Also, let’s put a face to who this money is helping. Meet Rachel. Rachel’s recently sent us a thank you for her Beauty Revived experience, read how Beauty Revived and her scholarship have changed her life.
I have been faced with more adversity than any other 18 year old ever should. It has
been extremely hard and while I used my strength to overcome each situation I never felt like
people saw this strength I carried and applauded me for it until Beauty Revived. I was able to
share my story in the most passion filled way I know how: writing. I entered my piece along with
beautiful photos (the first time in a long three years’ time I ever felt that beautiful) taken by one
of the kindest souls I have met, Janese Hockman. I thought “they won’t choose me, there are
tons of people who deserve it more than me”. It felt so good to be wrong and to appreciated and
to be given admiration for my strength. Michelle and her team gave me the ability to cry tears of
happiness instead of pain for the first time in a while. My family has faced financial problems for
many years and to receive this scholarship was an incredible blessing. Michelle and her team
even accommodate my needs. I didn’t own a computer and wasn’t going to be able to afford
one in time for college. I also didn’t have any money for books or some supplies and they were
able to give me the scholarship funds to cover my needs within that too. They made it happen
for me and here I am sitting on my bed in my new dorm with my new books and supplies sitting
next to me ready for me to submerge myself in all the learning I’m going to be able to do here at
Sonoma State University, all while writing this on the new laptop they provided me with. Beauty
Revived set me up for success and that is something I could never be grateful enough for. With
these tools and furthering my education I will go out into the world and better other’s lives. From
the deepest part of my heart, thank you to everyone who was involved.
Meet Kylee. Kylee used her scholarship to support a mission trip after graduation from high school. Kylee felt called to do mission work after graduating. Recently, Kylee emailed us a few pictures and shared how she is doing!
“Hi Michelle! I hope this email finds you well!
Here are a few pictures from the first month of my 9 month mission trip. It has been a journey and it is only month 2. The first month, we worked at a school for disabled children and adults, doing many different things such as feeding, changing, massaging, playing, and loving them. It was very difficult to get used to because I had never worked with kids who were completely dependent on someone else doing everything for them. Although it was challenging, it was so rewarding and those children and teachers changed my life.”
These scholarships are changing lives and we need YOU to help us do this!
