Meet Ann. She is Beauty Revived.
More than 463,000 children live in foster care in the United States in 2015. Unfortunately, today, more than a dozen children will be placed into foster care for a variety of reasons in the state of Arkansas. These children will join nearly 4,500 other children in state custody. Furthermore, there are over 500 children in the state waiting to be adopted. Ann Meythaler and her husband Kerry made the decision to open their home to these children in need of a safe and loving home over ten years ago.
Immediately after opening her home for foster care, Ann quickly realized that there was a great need in her community of Northwest Arkansas for more foster homes and better support services for those homes currently serving the children in foster care. In October 2010 she led a team of volunteers as they launched The CALL in Northwest Arkansas. The CALL stands for children of Arkansas, loved for a lifetime. The CALL’s mission is to educate, encourage, and equip the Christian community with education and resources to provide a future and a hope for children in foster care in Arkansas. They do this by recruiting, training, and providing ongoing support for foster families. For example, The CALL closet is a wonderful resource where foster families can come to “shop” for donated clothing, shoes, and baby necessities such as pack and plays and bouncer chairs. Since its launch, The CALL has trained over 250 foster homes in Northwest Arkansas and has seen hundreds of children successfully reunified with their birth families or adopted into their forever families.
Ann and her husband Kerry are now the proud parents of 8 children, two biological children and 6 who have been adopted though foster care in the state of Arkansas. Ann is not only a devoted wife and mother, but devoted to her foster care community and the children that they serve.
Ann is a patient, supportive, courageous woman, who has worked tirelessly with local foster parents to make sure that the children come into foster care in Northwest Arkansas have a safe and loving environment. Her huge heart and loving nature make Ann one of the most beautiful women in Arkansas. Ann is Beauty Revived.
