Meet Hannah. She is Beauty Revived.
Let me tell you about Hannah Wood’s a high school senior girl who I first met several years ago at Crosspoint Church. On her journey toward this, her senior year, she has endured significant health issues, causing her to work at school work via independent study along the way. She has faced family job losses, and more, and I have watched her weather concerns re: parent health and her own, with a smile and only kind words for everyone she encounters. She has helped regularly in the Sunday school classrooms, as well as behind the scenes with set up, cleanup, lesson prep, or anything that is needed. She has helped with women’s events, and childcare for those events. She currently serves on the worship team at church, heads up worship for the high school/youth ministry, and serves as a middle school small group girls leader as well. I have watched her teach youth (at summer camp) and definitely embodies a beautiful heart and always puts others first. She is the first to notice and attend to anyone with a hurting heart or soul, notices those “on the fringe” and invites them in, or simply hangs with them until they feel comfortable enough to come closer. I could tell you much, much more, and am being mindful of confidentiality issues as well. I am fairly certain she has been involved with helping others/organizations at school, and community, and has also gone on a mission trip this past Spring, to Africa. She’s not done with her hardships, and I would love her to receive some recognition and blessings, simply because she always does put others’ needs before her own. She has a beautiful smile, beautiful eyes, blue and kind. She also has a beautiful singing voice, and is very well respected by her peers at church.
From the very beginning Hannah had a quiet and gentle spirit. Hardly cried as a new born and as she grew showed independence in everything she did. She even talked and walked early. She has received many awards and has been on the honor list several times. She has an ability to solve math problems and has excelled and received top honors in this subject. During her freshman year of high school, things started to go wrong with her health and Hannah had to endure many doctors, ER visits, many, many testing’s. Through it all she remained tough, even though it was hard( I think it was a lot harder for me as her mom). If you were to look up “fighter” in the dictionary you would see Hannah’s picture. She won’t let anything stop her. She is also very loyal to her friends and will stand up for them and isn’t afraid to say something to help a friend. Hannah is a peace-maker and wants to see her friends happy. She is a fast learner and taught herself to play guitar (acoustic and electric) and is learning how to play piano. God has blessed her with a beautiful singing voice and from an early age always was singing. Her singing has brought her through many tough times. Now she uses it to bless God and others. I can’t wait to see where she goes from here. Her Dad and I are very proud of her. Bloom Rosebud Bloom.
We spend 3 weeks in SA last March. Hannah worked with me to teach a Bible class to groups of kids. We worked in 2 different townships with kids who have nothing. We had the privilege of telling these incredible children the Easter story. Many of them had never heard that story before. She worked hard at building relationships with the Africans and even spent a few hours letting them teach her to play “Netball”. Hannah had never been out of the U.S. before and it was a huge growing experience for her. ~from Cherie
She not only takes all of her responsibilities seriously and produce the highest quality work she can, but she goes out of her way to help others. She may be “swamped” with things she has to do but she will go and add more things to her to do list if it helps others. She is ridiculously smart, kind, and funny. She doesn’t judge anyone. There has never been a moment when I’ve felt judged or ridiculed by her. ~from Blake
About the Photographer
Hi I’m Kelly Lynne, a wife, mom and child of God. I specialize in high school seniors & teen photography. I’m a story teller and I love capturing stories. I believe everyone is unique and has a story to share. I feel blessed to do what I love everyday and the opportunity to get to know so many amazing teens & parents. I wasn’t much of a reader growing up but I loved pictures and how they told a story. I loved looking through my mother’s old photo albums of when her and my dad were young. Their clothes and hairdos told a story of what it was like growing up in their era.
