Meet Linda. She is Beauty Revived.
Hi, my name is Linda. I’m 60, grew up the oldest of 5 kids in a good home. I was born in Hayward, California, I’m a wife to an amazing man, Dan and a mother to three wonderful kids, Chelsea, Kristen and Nathan and this is my story.
I was married right before the age of 17 to a man I met just months before and smoked my first joint on my 17th birthday. After graduating we moved to Glenwood Springs, Co to start a whitewater rafting tour. Shortly after things went downhill quickly. We packed our bags and moved back to California. He became abusive and we both were addicted to drugs. We began having trouble in our business so for the next few years we moved from place to place to run from our problems.
After the birth of my beautiful daughter, Chelsea in 1983 we found ourselves homeless a couple of times. I was the mother I thought I would NEVER be. In 1989 my husband beat me and took Chelsea. I was fortunate to fine him and he was put in jail. At this point I decided Chelsea and I would move to Texas.
Moving to Texas would change our life forever. We attended a church my sister and her husband were pioneering. Here, is where I asked Jesus to come into my heart. Within a week I stopped drinking and taking drugs. It took a few more months before I stopped smoking, but I got there. We had very little with the few boxes we brought. Within a year I had a job, car and was able to move from living with my sister and her husband and into our own apartment. It’s all because of Jesus, I was able to accomplish this.
In 1991 I divorced my first husband and in 1993 I married an amazing man of God from Church. He was in the Air Force and is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It’s awesome to have a husband who loves me as I am. Like most we had our struggles. My daughter Chelsea was 9 and always wanted me to get back together with her dad. What child doesn’t?
I had my 2nd daughter, Kristen in 1995 and my son, Nathan in 1996. Jan. of 1997 at the age of 40 I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It hit fast and hard. I had an infant, a 22 month old and a 13 year old. I was a stay at home mom and finances were tight. I could hardly dress myself let alone take care of my kids. I was in excruciating pain and nothing could comfort me. I remember thinking, “I know why people want to kill themselves. The thought terrified me. I went into a depression and I had a lot of self-hate. Jesus helped me through all this even though I didn’t think He was hearing my prayers. My husband, who is very patient and kind, told me I needed to snap out of it. His works put a stop to my downward spiral.
I started researching and realized my diet, exercise and stress played into this disease. We cut back on processed food, sugar and started living a healthier lifestyle. Today I hardly have a flare up. In 2013 I placed 1st in my age category for a 5K. I feel healthier than I did 20 years ago. Now that my kids are adults, it was time for me to re-establish some roads in my life. I was excited when I realized it was my time. I was torn between becoming a nutritionist, making soap & lotion or learning sign language. With a lot of prayer, I realized I still love essential oils. In 2016 I reactivated my membership with Young Living Essential Oils. As of right now I have 18 people on my team. I am so amazed! I absolutely LOVE what I do. There are times when I reflect on my life that I can’t believe how blessed I am.
