Meet Savannah-Shine A Little Photography
If God is there, why be afraid?
This is the question that has framed and guided Savannah’s life these last seventeen years. From the moment Amanda, Savannah’s mother, found out she was pregnant, she prayed that God would use Savannah for amazing things for His kingdom. They specifically prayed that she would be a world changer and that she would make an impact. So far, this is the life she has led.
When Savannah was seven years old, she donated all of her birthday gifts to the local children’s hospital. She told her friends that she would be doing this ahead of time and also requested they bring a book with their gift. When she was ten years old she went on her first mission trip with her family and had no fear. She was in the thick of serving the homeless in downtown Denver and showed no resistance or intimidation. Soon after this trip, she made the decision to be baptized while listening to a David Crowder concert. It was during the song Oh How He Loves Us that she made the decision and she kept repeating “He loves us so much” for days after the concert.
It has always been His love that has been her motivation in life. Savannah has a long line of occupations she wants to be when she grows up. They range from teacher to missionary to a politician or possibly a minister. She wants to fight for social justice for women, children, minorities and the homeless. She wants to be a part of the movement to help bring love and acceptance to as many people as she can.
Recently Savannah was chosen to lay the wreath on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. She organized a fundraiser at her school to raise money for breast cancer research in honor of one of her life’s mentors. She is extremely active in her youth group, continues to go on mission trips with her church and is a leader and mentor to many young ladies around her. She wants to be a part of their bigger picture like so many others were there for her.
When asked about how she came to be the person she is today, Savannah will tell you that her parents are the reason. Amanda will tell you that Savannah is compassionate, strong, friendly and fiercely loyal to those she loves. Amanda always prayed that Savannah would have a ‘send me and I will go’ strength. Heading in to her senior year, Savannah is excited to see where God is going to send her. When she goes forward into whatever chapter God has next for her, she hopes she can be like the Good Samaritan from the Bible. It is her favorite story and if she can stop and help someone along the way, regardless of social prejudice or preconceived notions, she will feel as if she is making the impact on the world she hopes for. Regardless of whom she encounters or where she ends up, she ready and if God is there, why be afraid?
